Preschool Montessori Teacher (Stockton, CA)

Our fast growing preschool site in Stockton is looking for Montessori certified teacher who is loving, caring, self-motivated and has passion in early childhood education.  The preschool teacher teaches in a creative and stimulating Montessori Method, with amicable working environment, great colleague team and excellent career advance opportunities. 

 Job Duties

  • Teach and demonstrate Montessori jobs to children age 2-6
  • Lead circle time, read books to entire classes or to small groups
  • Draft classroom lesson plan, schedule and work with director to finalize, revise as needed
  • Teach students as per lesson plan and classroom schedule
  • Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
  • Establish routine, enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order inside and outside of the classroom
  • Communicate with parents, address any question and concerns from parents and update school director with the communication and concern
  • Communicate with school director on classroom update, issues and parent concerns
  • Straighten and clean classrooms and any area in the facility
  • Perform proper handover to AM / PM care staff for regarding the classroom students assigned
  • Conduct parent conference
  • Supervise, guide and train classroom assistant teacher
  • Provide feedback to assistant teacher’s work
  • Perform duties assigned by Director
  • Prepare snacks and deliver to the classrooms
  • Supervise nap, recess, morning and afternoon care
  • Maintain accurate records for children in the assigned classroom.
  • Interact with the children in a way which conveys respect and nurturing
  • Engage in active play with children; this will often mean getting down on the floor to interact with them, constantly moving around
  • Attend to the personal hygiene of each child in your care, including changing diapers or soiled clothing and washing hands.
  • Maintain a safe environment based on safety standards set by the Center and state guidelines
  • Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing  information on a continuous basis
  • Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible

 

 Qualifications:

  •  Must be 18 years or older
  • With minimum 2 years teaching experience in a licensed Montessori child care center for 2 to 6 year olds.
  • Montessori Certification is preferred
  • Must meet the qualification of California State requirement for a child care center Teacher, including, not limit to: 12 post-secondary semester units or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development at an accredited college/university.  Other units include the Child Growth and Development, Child, Family, and Community and Program Development.
