Preschool Lead Teacher– part-time and full-time opportunities

Catholic Academy, a globally-minded school committed to the art and science of innovation serves students from 18 months through eighth grade is looking for motivated early childhood educators to join our preschool staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•  To plan curriculum, supervise, and implement programs with the procedures and philosophy of the preschool program;

•  To address the total development of each child: social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual;

•  To assist the Preschool Director and other teachers in creating an engaged, professional, and organized learning environment for all students;

•  To conduct parent conferences;

•  To share with parents a weekly summary through email, and respond to parent concerns as needed in a proactive and professional manner;

•  To assist the Preschool Director in explaining the program to prospective families;

•  To communicate with the Preschool Director to ensure the coordination of the classroom activities and to support positive staff-student relationships;

•  To assist the Preschool Director in teacher training activities, teacher supervision, and evaluate the program on an on-going basis;

•  To evaluate procedures to assess the developmental level of children with the Director;

•  To maintain the strictest confidentiality over student and institutional information;

•  To assist the Director and staff to write a monthly newsletter and snack calendars; and

•  To attend all Preschool staff meetings and early childhood seminars; and recommended training programs, and conduct and lead at least one in-service each school year.

The qualifications of the Lead Teacher shall follow guidelines as required by the State of California Department of Social Services Licensing Board, which include:

•  AA degree in Early Childhood education (minimum).

•  Two years of preschool teaching experience in a Licensed Child Care Facility.

•  Be a sensitive, mature individual who relates well to children.

•  Be able to provide leadership and stability to the program.
