EC Practicum - Semester I

EC Practicum Teaching Semester I

The practicum provides for the student with a supervised learning experience and a period of observation, internalization, and further study. The practicum brings together the theory and practice of Montessori education. The student participates in all facets of the early childhood curriculum and classroom leadership, as well as family partnership, and administrative procedures. The practicum is for nine consecutive months, five days per week, three hours per day.

Three Field Supervisor visits occur during the nine-month practicum for a student working under a supervising teacher, or six visits if the student is the head teacher in a self-directed practicum.
