EC Parent Involvement/Education (Child, Family and Community)

 

**This is the single class that is transferrable from a University or Community College to go towards the credential program**

Philosophy and rationale for parent involvement in group care and education is examined. The child is discussed within the context of the family and the community. Issues of attachment, and autonomy and initiative are discussed. An understanding of the goals, values and culture of the children in the Montessori environment are discussed. Issues of gender and stress in family life are further areas of discussion. Community resources are developed by the participants.
