AD.01.C Program Development:  Working with Families

               Administration Level (AMS 6.5.5.1)

                                                           

Description:

 

To familiarize the adult learner with the many types of communication, both formal and informal, via different media, that we communicate with families.  Classic and emerging vehicles to seek family engagement, and offer services to families is explored.

           

Clock hours: 16 hours.

Objectives to be achieved:

 

The adult learner exhibits an understanding of Montessori philosophy, methodology, and educational practice based on the developmental needs of children as the school serves the families of each child. (MACTE 3a)

 

The adult learner demonstrates an understanding of the Montessori curriculum at each age level and its implementation, and communicates these expectations to the Montessori teachers at the school so that the teachers can effectively communicate them to the families. (MACTE 3b)

 

The adult learner develops techniques to engage and to cultivate relationships with community members, partners, and families to enhance the school climate and culture. (MACTE 3d)

 

The adult learner demonstrates the ability to develop and to implement an effective and affordable plan to recruit and orient prospective families to the school’s Montessori culture. The adult learner demonstrates the ability to develop and

implement a system to encourage family retention. (MACTE 4c)

 

Competencies to be achieved:
