AD.01.D Program Development:  Working with Boards & Community,

               Expansion, Accreditation

               Administration Level (AMS 6.5.5.1)

                                                           

Description:

To familiarize the adult learner with several school board compositions (public, private

for-profit, private nonprofit) and legal structures is the major focus in addition to interface with community organizations local and statewide.  Issues of school expansion and stepping up to school accreditation are addressed as well.

           

Clock hours: 16 hours.

Objectives to be achieved:

The adult learner implements and develops systems, policies, and procedures that support high-fidelity Montessori programs at all levels in the process of accreditation. (MACTE 3c)

 

The adult learner develops techniques to engage and to cultivate relationships with community members, partners, and families to enhance the school climate and culture as the school seeks to expand. (MACTE 3d)

 

The adult learner exhibits the ability to identify types of board governance structures (public, private for-profit, private nonprofit) and understand the role of the administrator within each governance structure. (MACTE 4e)

 

The adult learner demonstrates an understanding of the role of strategic planning and the ability to utilize this understanding for school improvement as a critical role of the board. (MACTE 4f)

 

Competencies to be achieved:
