AD.03.C Program Development:  Montessori Curriculum & Materials –

               Elementary

               Administration Level (AMS 6.5.5.2)

                                                           

Description:

To familiarize the adult learner with the appropriate Montessori environment, curriculum, materials, activities and experiences for the elementary student to include language, mathematics, biology, geography, history, physics, chemistry, and geometry. 

           

Clock hours: 16 hours.

Objectives to be achieved:

The adult learner exhibits an understanding of Montessori philosophy, methodology, and educational practice based on the developmental needs of the elementary children. (MACTE 3a)

 

The adult learner demonstrates an understanding of the Montessori curriculum at the elementary level and its implementation, and communicates these expectations to the Montessori teachers at the school. (MACTE 3b)

 

The adult learner implements and develops systems, policies, and procedures that support high-fidelity Montessori programs at the elementary level. (MACTE 3c)

 

The adult learner demonstrates an understanding of how indoor & outdoor environments are organized to support Montessori philosophy and to support faculty in creating and maintaining a positive Montessori elementary environment. (MACTE 4b)

 

Competencies to be achieved:

Demonstrate an understanding of Montessori philosophy, methodology, and educational practice based on the developmental needs of children. (MACTE 3a)

 

Demonstrate an understanding of the Montessori curriculum at each age level, its

implementation, and expectations for Montessori teachers. (MACTE 3b)

 

Implement and develop systems, policies, and procedures that support high-fidelity

Montessori programs at all levels. (MACTE 3c)

 

Demonstrate an understanding of how indoor & outdoor environments are

organized to support Montessori philosophy and support faculty to create and maintain

positive Montessori learning environments. (MACTE 4b)

 

Demonstrate an understanding of the role of strategic planning and the ability to utilize it

for school improvement. (MACTE 4f)
