Change of Program or Level

You were admitted to the United States to complete a specific educational program as reflected on your I-20. If your academic program will change, it is your responsibility to request an update to your SEVIS record and obtain a new I-20. In updating your SEVIS record, MTEC notifies immigration that you are beginning studies with a new level. i.e. If you are completing the AMS Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Credential and will begin the AMS Montessori Infant & Toddler Teaching Credential, your I-20 must be updated to reflect the current Credential Level.

If you are completing your current credential level and wish to be admitted to another credential level, you must request to change programs. All grades must be completed and all previous financial obligations must be met before the applicant will be permitted to change programs. This request must be submitted to the international advisor before your 60-day grace period expires. There is a $400 fee for MTEC to process a change of program request.
